Ethan 1 month old

Love those big beautiful blue eyes! This is my favorite outfit right now.
He looks like such a little man!

Snuggling up with Daddy!
Wow, how time flies! Ethan is 4 weeks old! It has been a crazy 4 weeks of trying to adjust, and learning what little man likes and trying to keep up with 4 kids. We are still up at least 2-3 times a night, and I have resorted to the fact that sleep is just over-rated and I just have to get adjusted myself. Napping during the day is nearly impossible with Darci, and with Ethan sleeping I have so many things to do during the day that I really don't have time to rest. I am getting used to minimal sleep most days. We have a grumpy time around 7-8 pm and then of course I try to get him to bed around 10, and usually he is up till 11. He just does what he wants already! I love my snuggle time with him. The kids are adjusting, and so far Darci hasn't tried to "help" too much. She loves to talk to him and rub his little head. C.L. is fascinated with him, and is anxious for him to get a little bigger. Bryton loves to hold and try to comfort him when I am busy. Life is good, and we are a "Happy Family".

Carving it up

Let the mess begin! We pulled out the pumpkins and the kids began to pull out the pumpkin guts. I was a little pre-occupied with Ethan and so we just let them do it on their own. C.L. and Darci were having a little too much fun flinging guts and half heartedly cleaning out the pumpkins. I will admit I was a little angry at the mess, and so as I was trying to clean up the guts I was grumbling at them about the pumpkin guts being everywhere. In response to my grumbling Darci replied, "But not in the pumpkins Mom!" OKAY, well I stood corrected, the task was to clean out the pumpkins, not the kitchen I guess.

C.L. was having so much fun carving that he decided to carve Ethans for him. He really loves being a big brother!

Darci's (Any guesses of what she is for Halloween?)
Bryton's first "all by herself" pumpkin. She designed it and sketched it on all by herself.

Sleepy Boy

We went in to be induced on the 29th early in the morning. 39 weeks and 1 day gestation. I was afraid that we might have a big kid, however I didn't anticipate 9 pounds! Things went fairly uneventful despite the fact that the epidural didn't work. He was healthy and came in a hurry when the time came. His little face was a bit bruised and his eyes were really blood shot from the quick birth! That night my dear friends brought Bryton, C.L, and Darci to meet their little brother. Darci was "proud" as she would say. C.L.'s eyes got rather large when his brother was placed in his arms. Bryton of course was immediately in love with her little brother. We spent two nights at the hospital so that the pediatrician could monitor Ethan for jaundice. All was well and we were released to go home!
Life at home has been eventful and quite an adjustment. Aunt Rachel volunteered to take Darci for 5 days. Any other 3 year old might have problems with leaving mom and dad for that long, but not Darci. We have missed her little voice this last week, but I have enjoyed some of the silence and time to recover and adjust to having a little one again. Oh the things we forget!
We're so glad to have Ethan in our family!
