Kitchen Bench

Our kitchen seems to be a slowly constant work in progress............... This week the guys from Glass and Moore came and installed my kitchen table bench! It is beautiful, and it holds a lot of kids. Tested out the goods tonight when I had a grand total of 10 kids at my house for dinner. I am also excited about more storage space! Can you ever have too much storage?

Ethan 6 months!

"Big Boy"

Okay, so my "little" baby had his 6 month check-up last week! 17 Pounds 4 Ounces! HELLO no wonder my back aches and I dread packing the car seat fully loaded! He is sitting up really well and the doctor fears that he will be crawling soon....................

Never a dull moment!

Okay, so I am most definately not going to win "Mother of the Year!" A couple of weeks ago I had committed to attend a Moore Community Association Meeting in Moore (Carson was supposed to be home this time, but of course ended up working overtime) that I felt I needed to make a quick appearance. I left Bryton, C.L. and Darci at home. I had my phone (with sketchy cell service) and wasn't planning on being gone more than an hour. Well, an hour was almost up when I received a frantic call from Bryton saying that Darci had a string on her finger and was freaking out. Well, due to lack of explanation I first told her to rinse the finger in cold water (thinking it was just tied on tight or something) and see if she would relax. A few minutes went by and I was packing up to head home when she called again. She was unable to get Darci to calm down and couldn't get the string out of her finger. Well then I got nervous so I told her to call Grandma Bogie. I knew it would be faster than waiting for me to come from Moore.
Well long story short, Darci and C.L. were playing with my sewing machine. Darci wanted C.L. to "stamp" her finger. He pressed on the pedal and she got stamped! Only it left the thread running through her finger! Grandpa Bogie was able to remove the thread from her finger and she was instantly calmed down and better........... C.L. on the other hand was devastated. He was so scared that he had really hurt his little sister that he was in tears! I am pretty sure that one of them won't ever play with the sewing machine again! (Sorry to say that Darci should be the impacted one,but I doubt it!)
We tried not to laugh too much about the event. Of course I have had the same experience only I sewed my own finger and walked in to my mom with the needle still in my finger! Darci still likes to show everyone her finger and she thinks it is a great conversation piece!

Basement Progress

Carson has been working hard on our basement. He has it all framed in now and is ready to hang sheetrock. Bryton is so excited that all she wants for her birthday is stuff for her new bedroom. I hope she is patient for us to get it all done. It sounds so much simpler and easier than it really is.

Of course with my current inablility to be of much assistance due to the fact that I have a baby and three other kids that seem to keep me running I am very grateful for Trevor. He has spent many hours with Carson helping along with the project.

New Cake Trick!

These are a couple of my latest birthday cakes. I learned a new trick and I absolutely love it for cartoon characters. You take an image and put it behind wax paper and build the image from the bottom side up. When the image is all completed you freeze it and then transfer it onto the cake! It does make the characters easier....................however I didn't really think that Buzz and Woody were easy! (But I had a blast with the challenge)

I have done a couple of other characters over the past couple of months, but wouldn't you know it! I didn't take pictures.

Hobbies

Okay so I have talked about my hairbow addiction before.............. However it has grown. To my defense I do have 2 girls and they still will both wear hairbows and flowers! Barb and I have a great time visiting and matching up outfits with hairbows.

Then over the last couple of months my dear friend Shelley shared her hobby of making beaded watch bands. Well, I really like making these too! So glad that my friends have all the goods and let me share with them in their hobbies. :-) LOL Here are the watch bands that we currently have between Bryton and I. I have actually made a couple more bands that have been given away as gifts too. I love them!!!! .

I think my multi-colored one is my favorite right now!

Little Moments

This is one of those parent moments. I asked Darci what she was doing with the boxes and all the animals and she sat down in the middle of them all and said, "I'm doing flamily home evening!" She had out the church picture manual and was proceeding to teach her friends. Moments like these make a mom proud!
