1st Day of School 2009

Bryton was so ready for school to start this year! It seems like the older she gets the more she wants to get back to school to be busy and see all her friends. She has Mrs. McCurdy this year and is excited to be done with the elementary school this year! :( Mom is a little apprehensive of this thought. I guess it comes around ready or not! She is such a beautiful girl and we are really proud of her. Trying to hide his cast!
C.L. was all ready for 2nd grade! He was not sure he wanted to explain his cast over and over again. His version of the story is that he fell off the stool instead of the table. I guess he gets less inquiries. His teacher this year is Mrs. Anderson and we are excited for him. 2nd grade will be a great year! Mrs. Anderson has reported to me that the cast doesn't seem to slow him down a bit! Thank goodness it was his left hand!

I'm Hooked

I know that I have told many of you of my new past -time. Making hairbows! Yes, Barb got me addicted to making hairbows! Darci loves the cute little hairbows and likes to be pretty. This board and a couple of bows are some that I made for Sierra, my girlfriends daughter. She was so excited that she had to sleep with the bows. (I love it!)

More on the HOUSE!

Not your typical picture window view! I have to admit that it did put a smile on my face!
Progress is always nice! We finally have concrete poured in the basement!!!!! Carson has worked so hard getting to this point. I will admit that I feel really bad because I am not used to being absolutely worthless on our projects, but this was one of them. I can't exactly shovel out dirt which he spent many days doing, and then there is the concrete work, and all the other prep work that he had to do. I am so thankful to have a hardworking husband that takes pride in our home and works hard to accomplish our goals! I also am thankful for a Dad and Father in-law that support us along with a couple friends to help get the job done!

After the Concrete meant that it was time for Carson to work again............. He had to haul rock and dirt to backfill the window wells. We will have actual windows in the basement soon!!!!

Lagoon!

The ladybug was a quick favorite for the adults and kids alike! I know we visited it at least 2 times!
C.L. completely soaked! So glad that he only had a splint that we could replace the bandage!

Darci, Gotta strike that pose! :-)
Mr. Michael was having a good time too!
Anna and Johnny!
Mitch, Adella and Michael! It was a cool relief for the day!

Noah enjoying a little water!

Family time is always great! We headed out early on the morning of the 22nd to meet up with Rachel, Paul, Mitch, Adella, Anna, and kids at Lagoon! We left Carson home working on the basement as we had just poured concrete the night before. We had a great day! The big girls really were there, but I couldn't keep up with them all that great!

Broken!

Life likes to throw out some curve balls to keep you guessing! In the midst of the construction/cement process C.L. decided to play on the kitchen table........................... That is the story which took some time getting out. I was gone at the time of the incident, however when I got home he was still really favoring his left hand. We got him bathed, and decided maybe it was time to go and check it out at the ER. However C.L. wasn't excited about this excursion! His last trip to the ER ended up in surgery and all that, so it was quite traumatic. He cried and cried while we waited to see what the X-Ray showed. I think the nurses thought he was hurting, but he really was just crying because he wanted to go home! He had a small fracture just below his thumb on his wrist. Thankfully they put him in a splint for a couple of days to wait for the swelling to reduce. It really would have ruined the trip we had planned for the next morning to Lagoon!
